The Government of Ghana has urged all citizens to postpone any non-essential travel to South Africa until further notice. The advisory follows a serious diplomatic dispute triggered by escalating xenophobic attacks and violence against foreign nationals in parts of South Africa. In response to the deteriorating situation, the Ghanaian government has launched a large-scale evacuation exercise, facilitating the safe return of hundreds of Ghanaian citizens to Ghana.
