According to Takoradi-based Connect FM, at the late afternoon of Sunday four persons lose their lives in a successful attempt to rescue a drowning man at the Bosomtwe Sam Fishing Harbor at Sekondi in Western Region.
The four, were Papa Assan, Egya Ackon, Evans and Juju between aged 20 and 23 years. The narrative indicated that the four had gone for swimming late afternoon Sunday and were returning when they saw someone drowning.
They hurriedly jumped into the water in a bid to rescue him but unfortunately got drowned, an eyewitness, Kojo Mensah.
Meanwhile, the person who they were trying to rescue however survived and is receiving treatment at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital.
The four, whose bodies were retrieved Monday morning, have been identified are currently in the morgue at the same Hospital.
They are all said to be residents of Ketan, a suburb of Sekondi. This issue has brought strange surprise to residents in the area and the Sekondi/Takoradi metropolis at large.
